The new year started as we like it at NAV: together, in motion and with concrete steps forward. The New Year meeting with the theme Let's Go (thanks for the idea and enthusiasm Sebastiaan!) offered space to reflect on the steps we have already taken as well as to look ahead to what is to come. After a brief introduction, groups used the development questions to explore where connections between allies are possible.
The energy of the conversations continued effortlessly on the exhibition floor, where supply and demand came together and immediate action was taken. From jointly looking for suitable accommodation for BOOST and Life Skills to legal support on contracts. Visibility in the city was looked at together, IT and programming knowledge was shared and several parties joined forces around practical questions, such as making laptops available. It did not stop at one-to-one matches; smaller coalitions in which several allies worked together also emerged. A great start to getting to know each other and each other's expertise better, starting from the questions at hand.
Besides all the meetings, it was also important to reflect on Nina Tellegen's farewell as quartermaster. We expressed our thanks for her commitment and dedication to the NAV. Mayor Femke Halsema was unfortunately unable to attend, but surprised her with a personal video message.
We ended the afternoon feeling energised and connected: a strong start to the new year. With extra thanks to BOOST Amsterdam for hosting the meeting and to Sandra from Neighbourhood Network, and Bruno, Jet and Casper from Bergh Stoop & Sanders for organising the exhibition floor.
