The Nieuw Amsterdams Verbond is committed to safeguarding the privacy of visitors, allies and friends as much as possible. In this Privacy Statement, we explain how we handle personal data of visitors to our website and of individuals who join us as allies, friends or collaborative partners.

This Privacy Statement applies to all personal data collected and processed by the Nieuw Amsterdams Verbond, based in Amsterdam.

This statement does not apply to websites of other organisations and/or companies, links to which may appear on our website. The Nieuw Amsterdams Verbond is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of third-party websites to which we link.

We do not collect personal data on our website unless it is provided to us voluntarily - for example, via e-mail, newsletter subscription or friendship or membership form. All information provided by you will be treated by us in a secure and confidential manner.

2. Processing of personal data of Allies, Friends and other relations
When you sign up as Ally or Friend of the Nieuw Amsterdams Verbond or are otherwise actively involved in our association, we process personal data that you provide to us.

• function or organisation (if applicable);
• payment details (in case of contribution or donation);
• preferences for communications and invitations.

• our legitimate interest to maintain relationships and further our objectives.

Retention periods
We keep your data for as long as your friendship or membership runs and for up to two years thereafter, unless a longer legal retention period applies (e.g. seven years for financial records).

Sharing with third parties
Personal data will not be shared with third parties, except with carefully selected processors who perform administrative, communication or financial services for us, such as:

• accounting or payroll;
• payment processing (bank, accounting system);
• newsletter system or website management.

Processing agreements have been concluded with these parties in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG). We never sell or share personal data with commercial third parties.

Matomo Analytics
We use Matomo as a statistics service to track how visitors use our website. Unlike Google Analytics, with Matomo all collected information remains on our own servers and is not shared with third parties.
The information collected by Matomo is anonymised as much as possible. The last part of the visitor's IP address is not stored, so the address can only be traced back to a group of 256 people. We have set up Matomo according to the Personal Data Authority's guidelines for privacy-friendly analytical cookies.

Third-party cookies
In several places, the website uses web content from parties other than the Nieuw Amsterdams Verbond, for example by embedding videos or images or opening up other sites via an iframe. This web content may use cookies and will be blocked if you have rejected cookies.
