On 9 December, Het Danspaleis was nominated for the Utrecht Volunteer Trophy 2025, finishing in the top three. The jury was impressed by the personal attention and the visible impact on the participants, some of whom are even in the last phase of their lives. For 1100 Amsterdam residents who are less fortunate, Christmas began as early as 10 December during the Sina Foundation's Christmas market in the RAI. It was the biggest edition so far! Several allies, including Polarsteps and NAV employees, helped out as volunteers. The Dance Palace and Neighbourhood Network were also present. A special day full of warmth and connection. Besides all the beautiful moments in December, there was also sad news. It was with great shock that we heard about the fire at the Vondelkerk, a treasured place in our city. The loss affects not only stone and wood, but also the community and the stories that came together here.
Our thoughts are with everyone touched by this fire. With Stadsherstel Amsterdam, the local residents and our ally Gardeners and Stay Future Proof, who had their workplace here.
