Yesterday, on 27 October 2025, Amsterdam celebrated its 750th anniversary: a milestone that Amsterdammers celebrated with pride and connection. We, the Nieuw Amsterdams Verbond, were also able to be part of this special moment.
Yesterday, on 27 October 2025, Amsterdam celebrated its 750th anniversary: a milestone that Amsterdammers celebrated with pride and connection. We, the Nieuw Amsterdams Verbond, were also able to be part of this special moment.
During the national celebration, the Nieuw Amsterdams Verbond was presented as a lasting gift to the city: a gesture symbolising cooperation, community and progress. Prior to the national television broadcast on Museum Square, a short film was shown in which some of the social initiatives, members of the alliance, showed what they mean to the city.
Afterwards, Mayor Femke Halsema, patron of the alliance, responded to the film. She stressed the importance of the Nieuw Amsterdams Verbond for the future of our city.
As icing on the cake, we also presented the first Nieuw Amsterdams Verbond Magazine: a collection of stories about what connects us as Amsterdammers.
